Anti-Idling Blitz at Kennedy Collegiate Institute:

Idle-Free Windsor was at Kennedy Collegiate Institute the week of January 22 to 26, 2007. Students in Mr. Reid's Canadian and World Studies class learned how to conduct an anti-idling blitz as part of a week-long class project. On Wednesday, January 24th, they approached motorists who were waiting to pick up students at the end of the school day. By handing out print materials, discussing Windsor's anti-idling by-law, and encouraging drivers to turn off their engine as they wait, the students aimed to reduce motorists' idle time. The anti-idling blitz was successful in reducing idle times from 9 minutes to 5 minutes! Way to go Kennedy!!
